EIN for foreign owners (no SSN required)

Your U.S. Employer Identification Number, obtained for a non-resident owner who has no Social Security Number — the first step to banking, payments, and filing.

EIN for foreign owners

Can a non-resident get an EIN without an SSN?

Yes. A non-U.S. owner without a Social Security Number or ITIN can still obtain an EIN for a U.S. entity — the application is submitted to the IRS with the responsible party listed as a foreign person. You do not need to be in the U.S. or have any U.S. tax ID first.

You need an EIN to open a U.S. business bank account, connect Stripe/PayPal/Amazon, and file Form 5472. It is the entity’s federal tax ID.

We prepare and submit the application correctly and send you the EIN confirmation. Bundle it with your first Form 5472 filing and it is just $49.

FAQ

EIN for foreign owners — questions

How long does an EIN take?
For a foreign responsible party without an SSN, the IRS typically processes the application within a few weeks. We handle the submission and follow-up.
Do I need an ITIN to get an EIN?
No. An EIN (entity tax ID) and an ITIN (individual tax ID) are separate. A foreign owner can get an EIN without having an ITIN or SSN.
